Peter Brown - chief executive
Peter was appointed to the position of chief executive of the Monarch Travel Group of companies in February 2007 having previously held the position of chief executive of Monarch Airlines since July 2002. The Monarch Travel Group comprises of Monarch Airlines, First Aviation, Monarch Aircraft Engineering, on whose Board Peter has sat since May 2001, and sister companies Avro and Cosmos who Peter joined as a Board Director in July 2000.
Peter has many years experience in the travel and aviation industries, having held the position of group finance director of Unijet and Leisure International Airlines until they were sold to First Choice plc, where he remained in various executive roles until he joined Avro and Cosmos.
Norman Creveul - technical director, Monarch Airlines and managing director, Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd
Norman first joined Monarch Aircraft Engineering Ltd in 1989 having previously held various positions at British Aerospace Hatfield in the field of flight testing and development. In 1992 he was promoted to deputy quality manager and further promoted to engineering manager in 1994. In 1996 Norman was appointed to director of engineering before becoming managing director in 2004. Norman holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Cranfield University, is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Chartered Engineer.
Kevin George - operations director
Kevin is responsible for all aspects of Monarch Airlines’ operation including Flight Operations, Ground Operations, In Flight Service and Customer Services. He joined Monarch Airlines in January 2007 initially as Director of Customer Services moving into the expanded operations role in October 2007. Prior to joining Monarch, Kevin had spent 11 years with British Airways where he held a range of senior commercial management positions covering areas such as in-flight product development, shorthaul brand management and most recently leading the development of the customer experience for Heathrows Terminal 5. Originally trained as an engineer, Kevin now has over 20 years experience in the aviation industry, spanning avionics, sales & marketing to the development of world class airline customer service.
Tim Jeans - managing director
Tim, whose career in aviation has spanned over 19 years, joined Monarch in 2004. He previously held the position of commercial director for no-frills airline Ryanair for seven years, and was responsible for driving its European expansion, including the establishment of their first continental bases at Brussels and Frankfurt. Tim then moved to MyTravel as MD of MyTravelLite. A spell as chief operating officer at MyTravel Airways preceded his appointment at Monarch.
Richard Mintern - chief information officer
Richard has many years of experience in the travel and aviation industries, having previously held positions at Britannia Airways and British Aerospace before joining Monarch, holding various positions within both engineering and operations. Since 1998 Richard has been responsible for all aspects of information technology and communications, including joint responsibility for developing e-commerce opportunities through monarch.co.uk. In 2006 Richard became Group Chief Information Officer responsible for all aspects of information technology across the Group including Monarch Airlines, Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited, First Aviation, Cosmos, Avro, Cosmos Tourama and Archers Direct.
Alistair Moffat - chief financial officer
Alistair joined Monarch in 2001. As a graduate and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Alistair has many years experience in the transport industry, having previously held the position of finance director at First Group plc in its Scottish division, Alstom plc in its signalling division and Mainline Freight Limited. He has also held a number of senior positions within the rail industry.
He is responsible for all aspects of financial management including treasury, insurance, taxation and payroll, for Monarch Airlines, Monarch Airlines Engineering Limited and First Aviation.
Alan Murray - Managing Director, First Aviation
Alan joined Monarch as a board director in 2003, after setting up First Aviation, a subsidiary of the Monarch group and taking the role as Managing Director. First Aviation is responsible for all charter sales activity for Monarch Airlines, both to internal tour operators and third party tour operator customers, as well as private chartering for corporate blue-chip organisations, specialist tour groups, charities and top-flight UK and European sports clubs.
Prior to joining Monarch, Alan has spent many years working within the travel industry for a number of established operators, including Flight Directors, Viking Aviation, Air 2000 and First Choice Airways in a variety of operational and commercial roles.
Bronwen Philpott - director of personnel
Bronwen joined Monarch Airlines as director of personnel in 1999 from Britannia Airways. Born in Luton, she worked in Australia for several years. On her return to the UK, she held various personnel positions at Electrolux before joining Britannia in 1988, where she was promoted to personnel manager. Bronwen is responsible for all aspects of staffing including recruitment, training, health and safety, policy development and employee welfare.
Liz Savage - Managing Director, Monarch scheduled services
Liz joined Monarch in February 2007, after previously holding the position of Director of Business Development at easyJet. Having joined the start-up team, she held a variety of senior management roles prior to becoming a member of easyJet's board in 2003.
Liz led the planning for easyJet's acquisition of 'go', the set up of subsidiary 'easyJet Switzerland', and the transition of 'deutsche BA' from British Airways' subsidiary to low cost airline.
Prior to easyJet, Liz worked at Manchester Airport in the Operations team. She studied Aeronautical Engineering at Bristol University, holds a Masters in Air Transport from Cranfield University and has studied at Harvard Business School.
